The new generation of digital photo frames are social networking-enabled. They’ll download and display photos from Facebook, Flickr, and so on.

HP DreamScreen 100

Hewlett-Packard is selling the DreamScreen 100, which has a 10 inch screen, for $200 (after rebate).

HP DreamScreen 100 Digital Photo Frame

The HP DreamScreen:

Displays Facebook updates

Displays Snapfish photos

Plays music and photos from your other computers

Plays Internet radio from some sites

eMotion Social-Connect Digital Photo Frame

The eMotion Social-Connect Digital Photo Frame is cheaper at $149. It also supports more social media than the HP DreamScreen.

In conjuction with the LifeGoRound photo and social network aggregation site, you can display photos from the following:

Facebook

When I logged in to Google Webmaster Tools today, I noticed the initial screen looked a little different. Here’s what the list of sites looks like:

Google Webmaster Tools Favicon Site List

What’s different is that in the site list, Webmaster Tools is now also showing the the little icon that appears in browser tabs. It’s called a “favicon” after the “favicon.ico” file in which it resides.

Once you click on a site for more info on that site, the favicon also shows in the site selector dropdown:

Google Webmaster Tools Favicon Site Selector Dropdown

Although this doesn’t really add any functionality, it just makes Webmaster Tools a little more aesthetically pleasing. But if you have a large number of sites, it could be easier to scan the list of your sites.

Other websites reporting the addition of favicon to Webmaster Tools include
Tim Cohn’s Search Marketing Communications, Search Engine Roundtable, and DigitalPoint Forums.
