Apple iPad

Steve Jobs revealed Apple’s tablet computer, dubbed the iPad, in a ceremony at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco.

Specs

Display: a 9.7 IPS (in-plane switching) LCD with multi-touch

Size/weight: 9.56 x 7.47 x 0.5 inches. 1.5 pounds (24.3 x 19 x 1.3 cm, .68 kg). Interestingly, the 3G model weighs .1 pounds more.

Resolution: 1024×768 at 132 dots per inch

Storage: 16, 32, 64GB flash memory

Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. 3G on the 3G model.

Power: 10 hour non-replaceable battery

Input/output: Dock connector, stereo jack, speaker, microphone (no USB)

Location: Digital compass. Assisted GPS/cellular in the 3G model.

Again and again, Jobs mentions holding the Internet in your hands and being able to interact with the web simply by touching it. He says the iPad is more initimate than a laptop, and more functional than a smartphone.

  1. Apple iPad is an amazing tablet device with an amazing pricing. No doubt Apple’s iPad has got so much hype to be an amazing product, but few drawbacks may keep it on the Backfoot. Something like USB slot is not given in a product considered to be equivalent to a notebook, really disappointing. They may have the solutions for such thing. But lack of a camera? what would it have cost? Can’t it support iChat ? :( huh?

    I will better wait for the user reviews or the next version of it, before getting one for me!

    I’m a bit torn still, not quite sure if I want one or not. As an eBook reader, it looks nice but has a backlit screen that will tire the eyes, as a gadget it looks great and will have some fantastic apps, as a computer, I think there are better netbooks for the same price
